Agape Child Evangelism

Hyderabad, India's 5th largest city, boasts of software parks and rich Mughalai food culture to its international audience but slums have become an integral part of this great city. These slum dwellers comprise mostly of roadside vendors, rickshaw pullers and daily wage workers. Whatever the meagre amount they earn, men spend it on liquor and women are forced into prostitution for their livelihood. With no basic facilities like water and sanitation, these slums are a platform for various diseases. Lack of education and ethics, increases the crime rate in the slums, atrocities on women and children have become common. Justice and decency find no meaning here.

Snehaseela Charitable Trust (SCT) along with ACE (Agape Child Evangelism) has come up with a determined plan of action to spread the love of Christ to these slum dwellers. With Miss Sulaxshna taking the lead, the gospel is proclaimed to them in Word and deed. The most unlikely place to celebrate Christmas, yet ACE & SCT chose to do the same among them! The slum dwellers were first given an assurance that we were working for their betterment and that they could count on us. It wasn't as easy as our teams faced their wrath initially. Only perseverance and God's love gave us the strength to carry on the good work we started. Today they gather eagerly to listen more about the love of Christ for them.

Food and clothing are given to these poorest of the poor. They are given basic education and taught sound morals. Today we praise God for the saved souls, for the lives that are transformed and for all the eager souls trying to live a decent life that brings glory to the Creator!

Quote of the Day

"I'm not afraid of the devil. The devil can handle me - he's got judo I never heard of. But he can't handle the One to whom I'm joined; he can't handle the One to whom I'm united; he can't handle the One whose nature dwells in my nature."
